Fallen Special Forces Soldier awarded Medal of Honor

WASHINGTON (USASOC News Service, Oct. 7, 2010) - The family of a fallen Special Forces Soldier who died in Afghanistan in January 2008 was presented the Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama during a ceremony at the White House Oct. 6.

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas (USASOC News Service, Oct. 7, 2010) - Two Special Forces warrant officers were promoted to chief warrant officers 4 by retired Col. Roger Donlon, a Special Forces officer who was the first Medal of Honor recipient during the Vietnam War, during a ceremony here Oct. 4.

Members of the Green Beret Veterans Association, Inc. are all volunteers who give time, money, and resources to preserve the traditions and history of Special Forces Soldiers; former, retired and active duty.  There are no paid positions in the GBVA.
